SCHEDULE AND EVENTS

Wesley Fleming

We are finalizing the Demonstration Schedule.

The demonstrations will be held on Thursday and Friday and the Bead Bazaar will be on Saturday.   If you don't want to sell at the Bead Bazaar then you can continue to torch.

We have also given the teachers the ability to set up small private classes so if you are interested just let the teacher know.  Sara Sally has a 2 day class before the Retreat and Patti Cahill has a 2 day class after the Retreat.

This Retreat is about you...so make the most of everything!

Life is about the road least traveled...in 2012 the road will lead you to Hilliards and you will be forever enriched with inspiration!  Come join us!

Questions?  Curious? Friend us on Facebook where you can talk to the teachers and other artists attending.
My first kiln was a small Paragon that I purchased for PMC beads in 2004.  I am now saving up for a Paragon bead kiln.  Barb

All lectures and demonstrations take place in the Lewis C. Wilson building with ample seating and great views.  We have a videographer set up so that the demonstrations will be on the screen.    You will be assigned a torch station when you arrive and if you have requested to be near someone make sure you let us know.

Classes by the Teachers:

Sara Salley LaGrand has a two day class on Tuesday and Wednesday before the Retreat that is full.

Trey Cornette and Wesley Fleming will be holding breakaway classes during the Retreat.  Please note that a "breakaway" class is a 1 to 2 hour class with 2 or 3 students in a separate torch room.  The details for these classes and costs is between the students and teachers.

Patti Cahill is putting together a two day class for Sunday and Monday.  One space is open if you are interested contact her.

Soft Glass Invitational

Barb and I have been working on adding a private teaching studio area to be available during SGI. This is a small 12 by 12 room in the rear of the Bandu building or up the hill. Good light, ventilation and up to three torches.  It will be available to the teachers first, then to any attendees. The idea is to have this room available to a teacher that wants to offer a one on one demo, or a demo for five or six people or even a hands-on “mini class’ using up to three torches. The cost to rent the room for anyone who wants to teach will be $15 per hour. There would be a limit of no more than two hours rental by any person or persons.  Any arrangements and payment between teachers and students is between them.  The intent is to have this room available so that if someone wants to have a special private glass session, then it can happen.

The second thing that we have planned, is to let people know that if they want to rent any single building at The Glassblowing Center , they may do that , either before or after SGI.   The rental will be between the teachers and Tom and Elaine Doner but we will advertise it on the website.  There are five building that have multiple torch stations. By renting a building, the teacher becomes the hosting studio and sets their own fee for the class.

You can get more information directly from the center. Ask for Tom or Elaine. http://www.glass123.com/
